Several family-friendly events will be happening during Jesse James Days! Youth will have plenty to find and do, from a car show and model railroad display, to a parade and all-ages street dance, inflatables, a fishing derby, and arts and crafts!
The model railroad display will be in the “old gym” at the Garretson School on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (enter through the doors in the east parking lot on Main & 2nd St).
The Car Show will be held from 6p.m. to 9p.m. on Friday evening at the Garretson School east parking lot on Main & 2nd St.
The Parade is a hit with all ages, and starts with an airplane flyover at 11:00 a.m. After, head to the Jaycee’s Sports Complex for fun with inflatables from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
From 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. head to north Main Ave for an all-ages Street Dance! This live music featuring 280 FIFTH will be fun for all!
The Siouxland Libraries-Garretson Branch will be hosting Family Activities during Jesse James Days! On Saturday, June 14 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. head to the Green Space on Main for the following activities:
Storywalk – The storywalk will be a children’s book told through a series of yard signs
Creative Art Experiences- The art experiences will include decorating a cardboard house – and playing in it – and a community weaving project
Yard Game – A very large connect 4 game and sensory bins for the youngest kiddos
On Sunday, grab an adult for the FFA Fishing Derby and try to get the biggest catch! Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. and the derby starts at 1:00 p.m.
