Meeting Minutes for May 24, 2023 at the Cabin.

II. Jesse James Days finalization of calendar for mailer and needed actions:
Discussion and duties assigned.

  1. Street Closures on Friday and Saturday discussed, Will allow seating outside the
    library Friday night and allow for bleachers for that night and Saturday.
  2. Inflatable pricing lowered to $10/child or $30/family (previous vote)
  3. Portable ADA Toilet ordered outside of Insurance Company 3 rd and Main. Opted
    to use concession stand and ask provider to clean portable toilets at ball field
    before JJ Days. Kris J.
  4. Drum Line from the GHS confirmed in the parade. John B. Drum line Groove Inc.
    playing in parade and after for a special performance.
  5. Volunteers for Trains in the parade finalized with MaryAnn C and John B.
    a. One of the lawn tractors donated to Blue Dragon Academy for their
    fundraiser.
  6. Garrick M. on call for train tech at the high school.
  7. Parade volunteers welcome to help hand out numbers for the parade lineup. 9:30
    – 10:30 AM Saturday.
  8. All Church outdoor service – needs additional volunteers from other churches.
    Suggested outdoor service at City Park, to encourage other churches to
    participate. Possible need to wait until more organized next year.
  9. Bingo cancelled regrettably by the Historical Society/Museum. Friday night.
    Discussion on possible organizations that could replace them: PTO- fundraising
    for new playground, Parks Department etc. Megan reaching out to Heather.
    Needs to be a non-profit and will need approval by Legion.
  10. Stage Coach Fundraiser for GCC – 1-5 chances to win. Tickets handed out to sell
    around town. PM drawing near ball field on Saturday. Flyer needs time for
    drawing. Various members took tickets to sell.
  11. Speaker System- dedication Friday night with Mr. Franka from the Pres. City
    Council. Other ribbon cuttings will be done at a later date. Calling both Garbage
    and More and the Roll Away Company. Leslie B

 *Some problems running the cable through the conduit from the Combine
to the Legion. Working on this month should be done before Jesse James
Days Luke D.

  1. Advertising discussion: Motion by Megan R. to approve the 3×7 color ad for the
    Shopping Guide as well as $75 for the Garretson Gazette. Passed unanimously.
     Mary Ann C. will paint the old banner to change the date. , PSA and local town
    websites will be posted on for upcoming events .Leslie B., FB Carrie M. WNAX
    suggested by Ron. L

III. Official Movement of Records to Macie Coburns Legal Firm confirmed
Proposed Address Change for Legal Documents- tabled until officially become
the official caretaker of GCC records. Address will remain with previous lawyer
until then.
IV. OTHER

  1. Carrie Moritz – Visitors Guide Discussion. We need to discuss whether the
    GCC or the Guide will be printed privately. Quote to follow. Pending until June
    meeting.
  2. Golf Tournament – Sponsorship/ Match for Hole. Motion by Megan R, Macie
    C. Passed unanimously.
  3. Next Meeting June 14 th , 11:30 Lunch and 12-1 PM meeting at the Gulch.
